CALLING AND MINISTRIES STUDIES (CAMS)
Overview of the CAMS Program
Throughout the CAMS program, the CAMS student will be given opportunities to develop the abilities to fulfill their divine calling and place of ministry. Completing the Calling and Ministry Studies (CAMS) program is the first step prior to receiving credentials with the Church of God. The credentialing of Church of God ministers is a formation process. CAMS helps the applicants determine if they are called to clergy ministry, as well as provides knowledge about ministry. These are the first steps that you will be taking to qualify you to then go forward with getting your credentials as an Exhorter in the Church of God. When you finish this program you will have a certificate from the DOE. If you choose to proceed with your Exhorters Credential at the end of the program you will need to speak to your pastor and he should email mindev@cognesr.org to receive the Exhorters application. Note: there will be a separate fee if you choose to take the exam.
There are two sections in CAMS—seminars and individual study. The orientation and three seminars, which are attended by both the applicants and their spouses, provide tools so that the applicants can identify if they are called to clergy ministry. The seminars also offer an explanation of ministry.
The individual study for applicants includes three activities:
-
Conducting personal devotions about calling and ministry.
-
Completing three online training courses.
-
Writing papers about their calling and understanding of ministry.
Spouses of applicants will attend the orientation and three seminars and will also write papers about their calling and understanding of ministry.
The Northeast Hispanic Region is so excited to join you in this journey to acquire your CAMS certification. This is the first step in achieving your ministerial goals within our denomination.

Overview of the CAMS for Students Program
CALLING and MINISTRY STUDIES for STUDENTS is designed to help high school and college students, aged 16-20, to identify, affirm, and define their calling. The program consists of four monthly seminars with four phases: EXPLORE, EQUIP, ENGAGE, and EMPOWER. This study will engage the younger generation, not only to identify the call of God, but also to start preparation in developing a healthy self-awareness while building a strong foundation for successful vocational and credentialed ministry in the Church of God. If students are interested in enrolling in CAMS for Students, they should talk with their pastor.
